That boost ignited the Avon offense and Eagle tailback Dan Siegfried went on a scoring spree. He scored four touchdowns in the first half to lead the Eagles to an easy 40-13 win over Keystone in last night's rain-soaked Lorain County Conference contest.
With the win, Avon improved to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the league. The Wildcats slipped to 1-4 and 0-2.
Siegfried's first touchdown, a 1-yard run, put the Eagles up 7-0 with 9:51 left in the first quarter ...
Avon quarterback Jason O'Rourke found Sean Graver for a 34-yard TD strike to take advantage after a Keystone fumble gave the Eagles the ball on the Cats 34-yard line with 8:47 to go in the first.
''We've definitely made a lot of improvements,'' Avon coach Lee Powell said. ''Jason O'Rourke played a great game and Siggy (Siegfried) ran the ball very well. In the second half we moved the chains when we needed to.'' ...
