Comments: My family moved to Avon from germany in 1952. My Father worked at Kathe Kreuzers (Later became Millers on Detroit road). We lived on Colorado Rd (37110) accross from the Dairy Treat and the Welding shop until 1969. I remember playing in French Creek, being on the swim team in Northgate and work at John's Atlantic gas station through High School. It was a great place to grow up. My best friend was Bob Shelton..who still lives there. I married my childhood sweetheart, Marlene Syphers, a cheerleader at Avon High. We now have 2 kids in college and live in Roswell, Ga, a suburb of Atlanta. I went back a couple of years ago and so much had changed. I did stop at Bucks Hardware and it was just as I remembered. The old rolltop desk that "Old Man Buck" used was still there. (That would be Craig's grandfather) Glad to see the website and remember some of the "good ole' Days" Dete Waehner

My father was born in the Alten-Casper house on Detroit Rd. Are you going to be putting any more information about the history of Avon on this web site?
