Church's Octoberfest planned

St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church's 25th annual Octoberfest will be Sunday, July 30, beginning at 3 p.m. on the church grounds. There will be music by the Wayne and Ed Band and the Al Battistelli Orchestra. Children and adult games are planned, and ethnic and home-cooked foods will be available. Admission is free.

Council work session

Avon City Council work session will be Monday, Aug. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers, Center and Chester roads.

Four person scramble

Avon Athletic Boosters are hosting its annual four-person scramble at the Bob-O-Link golf course Saturday, Aug. 5. Cost is $40 per golfer. All proceeds benefit the booster club. For additional information, call Dill or Donna Fitch at Bob-O-Link Golf Course at 934-6217.
