City Council to meet

Avon City Council will hold its regular meeting Monday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, corner of Chester and Center roads. The meeting will be followed by an executive session.

Choir boosters fund-raiser

The Avon High School Choir Boosters will be selling hot dogs and Malley's candy bars during the Avon Community Picnic at Schwartz Park on Sunday from 1 p.m. to dusk. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of new choir robes.

Blast off program

The Avon Branch Library's program "3,2,1 Blast Off," includes stories, crafts, and games with an alien theme. The program will be Monday at 7 p.m. and at 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

Meeting date changed

The French Creek Development Association has rescheduled its meeting for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Tom's Country Place.

Library's yard sale

The Avon Friends of the Library will begin accepting donations for its yard sale on July 10. Donations should be brought to the library building at the corner of Colorado Avenue and Harvest Drive. The yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A presale for Friends of the Library will be Friday, July 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Rib and chicken dinner

The French Creek Development Association will hold its second annual barbecue rib and chicken dinner Saturday, July 15 at Heritage Park at Detroit and Stoney Ridge roads from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ribs will be $7; chicken, $5; and chicken sandwiches, $2.50. Pop is 50 cents and bottled water, $1. Proceeds will go toward offsetting the remaining costs of constructing the gazebo in the park.

Professionals luncheon set

The Avon Chapter of Network Professionals meets every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for lunch at the Sugarcreek Restaurant, at the corner of Detroit and North Abbe roads. Any professional businessperson is invited to attend.
