Spaghetti dinner fund-raiser
Avon Wrestling Parents are sponsoring a spaghetti dinner Saturday, Feb. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Avon High School, 37545 Detroit Road. Cost is $5 per person, and children age 5 and younger are admitted free. For tickets, call 937-5013.
Boosters meetings set
Avon Band Boosters will meet Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m., and the Avon Choir Boosters will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be at Avon High School.
Autumn Rebels luncheon
Autumn Rebels will meet at noon Tuesday, Feb. 8 in The Barn at The Avon United Methodist Church, 37711 Detroit Road, for luncheon and a program entitled 'Music from Fiorello,' presented by Charlotte Norris. Reservations for the $5.25 catered luncheon can be made by calling Sis Wernert at 934-4445 three days before the event.
Library's family night
Family Night will be held at Avon Branch Library Thursday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. Registration for the story and craft evening is required and can be made by calling 934-4743.
Make a Valentine
Step Up Club will be offered for kindergartners through third-graders at the Avon Branch Library, starting Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 4 to 5 p.m. There will be Valentine's stories, Valentine's snacks and the making of a conversation heart Valentine's holder to take home. Registration is required and can be done by calling 934-4743.
Historical society
The Avon Historical Society will meet Monday, Feb. 7 in Avon Old Town Hall, located at the corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge roads. A representative of the Ohio Bicentennial Commission will be the program speaker.
Pastor's reception
Rev. Arthur Egan, pastor of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Road, will retire Sunday, Feb. 13. A Mass is set for 2 p.m., followed by a reception at Tom's Country Place, 3442 Stoney Ridge Road. Egan has been pastor at St. Mary Church for 22 years.
