Flower bed sale
Avon Garden Club's flower bed sale will be Saturday, May 13 at the garden club booth located at Countryside Antiques at 36290 Detroit Road, Avon. The sale will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 937-5237.
Attend PTA meeting
Avon East Elementary School PTA will meet Monday, May 8 at 7 p.m.
Boosters meetings set
The Avon Middle School Booster Club meeting will be Tuesday, May 9 in room 108 at 7 p.m. Avon Band Boosters will also meet at Avon High School at 7 p.m.
Fat screening program
The Avon Recreation Department and Columbia St. John West Shore Hospital will sponsor a fat screening, Tuesday, May 16 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Avon City Hall, Chester Road. This date will conclude the health care screening programs until next fall. For additional information, call Donna Russian, coordinator, at 937-7834.

Veterans plan buffet
Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7035 will meet Thursday, May 11 at 8 p.m. to make plans for the members only Mother's Day Buffet, Sunday, May 14 at 1 p.m.
Band, choir concert
An Avon High School Band/Choir Concert is scheduled for Thursday, May 11 at Avon High School at 7 p.m.
Library's book sale
Avon Branch Library will hold a book sale May 6 and 7 during library hours. Hardback books will be 50 cents; paperbacks, 25 cents; and children's books, 10 cents. There will also be a children's art show at the same time.
Research club's luncheon
The Avon Research Club will hold its May luncheon at Mon Ami Restaurant and Historic Winery in Port Clinton Friday, May 12 at noon. Car pools will be formed by meeting behind the Avon Police Station at 11 a.m. A winery tour will follow the luncheon.
