Research club's outing

Avon Research Club members will be attending the Friday morning concert of the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall tomorrow, followed by luncheon at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The group will carpool; meet behind the Avon Police Station at 8:45 a.m.

Goody bag of books

Parents with babies who are 1 year old or younger are invited to visit the Avon Branch Library to receive a free 'Books For Babies' goody bag. The bag contains a book, a baby bib, a reading list and other small gifts. The program is funded through the Nord Family Foundation grant.

First-grade concert

An Avon Village School first-grade concert will be presented Wednesday, April 12 at 1 and 7 p.m. The concert will be in the auditorium and open to parents and the public.

Autumn Rebels luncheon

Autumn Rebels will meet Tuesday, April 11 at The Barn, 37711 Detroit Road, at noon for a catered luncheon followed by the program called 'Another Funny Thing' by Dixie Botamer. Reservations for the $5.75 lunch can be made with Sis Wernert at 934-4445.

Boosters' meetings set

Avon Band Boosters Club will meet Tuesday, April 11 at the Avon High School music room at 7 p.m. The Avon Choir Boosters Club will meet Wednesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. in Avon High School music room.

Book sale benefit

Avon Middle School Boosters Club will sponsor a book sale on April 4, 7, and 10 from 8 a.m. to noon, and April 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale will also be held during conference nights 4 to 7:30 p.m. There will be 350 titles available for students, faculty and parents, and the goal is to secure $900 for the Avon Middle School Library.

School's science fair

The fifth-grade science fair will be held in the gymnasium at Avon East Elementary School Friday, April 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Library's family night

Family Night will be held at the Avon Library 37485 Harvest Drive: Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. Stories and crafts for ages preschool and up will be provided. Preregistration is necessary by calling 934-4743. Mr. Hatbox will entertain with stories and songs at 2 p.m. Saturday, 4-15-00.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

- Today: Spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, bread stick, orange shape up

- Friday: Grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, pickle chips, fruit cocktail

- Monday: Chicken nuggets, French fries, green beans, roll and butter, diced peaches

- Tuesday: Mini corndogs, carrot sticks, corn chips, diced pears

- Wednesday: French bread pizza, tossed salad, grapes

- Thursday: Deli sandwich, pineapple tidbits

MIDDLE SCHOOL

- Today: BBQ rib sandwich, fries, cherry crisp

- Friday: Grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, pickle chips, fruit cup

- Monday: Chicken nuggets, potato mounds with gravy, green beans, roll with butter, diced peaches

- Tuesday: Deli sandwich, pineapple tidbits

- Wednesday: BBQ chicken sandwich, salad, grapes

- Thursday: Mini corndogs, broccoli, corn chips, diced pears

HIGH SCHOOL

- Today: Spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, bread stick, orange shape up

- Friday: Grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, pickle chips, fruit cup

- Monday: Corndog, broccoli, corn chips, diced pears

- Tuesday: Deli sandwich, chips, pineapple tidbits

The Avon Women's Club will meet at 7 p.m. on 4-10-00 at the Lion's Community Center on Eaton Drive.

Officers and advisors of Another 4-H Club will attend a conference April 26. Front panels from used greeting cards as well as new and used books for kindergartners through second graders still are needed. Call (440) 934-6334.
