'Christmas Around The World'

Faith Lutheran Church will present ''Christmas Around The World'' Saturday, Dec. 9 from 2 to 5 p.m. Children ages 3 to 11 will make craft projects, learn to say ''Merry Christmas'' in other languages and hear the true meaning of Christmas.

Parents are welcome to stay or take the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping. Registration begins at 1:50 p.m. at the church, and the program will end at 5 p.m. after the children eat a pizza supper. Research Club's party

The Avon Research Club will meet tomorrow for its Christmas party at the Avon Branch Library at 1 p.m.

National honor inductions

The National Honor Society Induction ceremony will be tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at Avon High School.

Schools' Christmas concerts

On Monday, Dec. 11 students in the second grade will present Christmas programs at 1 and 7 p.m. in the Avon Village School auditorium. On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Avon High School Band Concert will be in the auditorium at 7 p.m. The public is invited.

Society's holiday gala

Avon pioneers Priscilla and Wilbur Cahoon will host the annual Christmas party of the Avon Historical Society in their home at 2940 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon, which was built in 1826. The affair is set for Sunday, Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. Dues must be paid to attend. Contact Barbara Wolfe, treasurer, at 3409 Long Road.

Investment Club to meet

The Avon Detroit Road Investment Club will meet Sunday, Dec. 10 in the parlor of the Avon United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Guests are welcome.

Veterans post, auxiliary meetings

The Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7035 will meet Thursday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m., and the post's auxiliary will meet Monday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. Holiday plans will be completed.

-- Tomorrow: Hot ham and cheese on bun, French fries, blueberry cobbler, milk

-- Monday: Hamburger on bun with shredded lettuce and tomato, pasta salad, pineapple tidbits, milk

-- Tuesday: Rotini and meat sauce, garlic breadstick, buttered corn, raspberry sherbet, milk

-- Wednesday: Cheese pizza, steamed broccoli, applesauce, milk

-- Thursday: Chicken nuggets, potato mounds with gravy, roll and butter, diced peaches, milk

Pancake breakfast with Santa

The Avon Preschool Parents Club will hold a pancake breakfast with Santa from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at Avon Middle School, 3075 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon. Cost is $1.50 for children 4 to 11 and $4 for adults. Children 3 and under are free. Children will also have a chance to visit with Santa, and a photographer will be present to take pictures.
