Indoor garage sale

The Avon Preschool Parents Club will hold its third annual Kids Kloset, a resale of children's items, at Avon High School Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is $1. All proceeds benefit the club.

Research club tour

The Avon Research Club will meet at the Finwood Estate, 799 N. Abbe Road, Elyria, for its meeting on Friday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. The group will tour the landmarks and learn about the history of the estate.

School board meeting

The Avon Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Avon Village School.

Investment group to meet

The Detroit Road Investment Club will meet at the Avon United Methodist Church on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. Guests are welcome.

Seat open on investment board

The Avon Investment Club will meet Monday, Oct. 15, in the Avon Branch Library, Harvest Drive, at 10:30 a.m. President Daniel Haradem said there are vacancies on the board. Guests are welcome.

Sixth-grade rally

The annual sixth-grade rally will be Friday, Oct. 19, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at Avon High School's main gymnasium. This is an annual event produced by the Lorain County Prevention Connection and the Lorain County Safe Schools Task Force. More than 2,000 sixth-graders from Lorain County will be attending the event, which features Karl Anthony, who will perform a concert to celebrate life and being drug free.

Avon Elementary:

-- Today: Soft pretzel with cheese sauce, tossed salad, juice bar

-- Friday: No school

-- Monday: BBQ beef on a bun, carrot sticks with ranch dip, choco-raisin, haystacks

-- Tuesday: Salisbury steak with tomato gravy, steamed rice, green beans, orange wedges

-- Wednesday: Cheese pizza, tossed salad with croutons, chocolate date cake

Avon Middle:

-- Today: Donato's pizza, Caesar salad, melon cup

-- Tomorrow: No school

-- Monday: East of Chicago pizza, carrot sticks with dip, choco-raisin, haystacks
