School board to meet
The Avon Board of Education will meet Tuesday, April 17, at Avon Village School at 7:30 p.m.
Academic, choir boosters
The Academic Boosters Club and the Choir Boosters Club will meet Wednesday, April 25, at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be at Avon High School.
Easter egg hunt
Goodtimes in Avon will host their third annual ''EGGstravaganza'' Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. The ''EGGstravaganza'' is free and open to the public.
Car seat safety checks
Lorain County Safe Community Coalition and the EMH Center for Health and Fitness are sponsoring car seat safety checks. The checks will take place at the EMH Center for Health and Fitness, 1997 Healthway Drive, Avon, on Tuesday, April 24, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Thursday, April 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Call 988-6800 for an appointment.
Fund-raiser a success
The Avon Junior Women's Club's fund-raising event, ''March Magic,'' last month raised more than $20,000 to benefit the Avon Public Library, the Avon Community Center, Avon Safety Town and the club's scholarship fund.
Road work in Avon
As of Monday, 4-16-01, Long Rd. will be closed to through traffic for waterline installation.
Beginning 4-16-01, Kinzel Rd. will be closed for sewer work.
In North Ridgeville, starting 4-16-01, SR-83 between Butternut Ridge Rd. and Center Ridge Rd. will be closed until Friday for railroad crossing repair.
