Stories, crafts for children
Kindergartners through second grade can come to the Step-Up Club starting Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Avon Branch Library, to enjoy stories and crafts, from 11 a.m. to noon. Preregistration is required by calling 934-4743.
Skating party, fund-raiser
Avon Village School PTA will sponsor a skating party Sunday, Feb. 4, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Elyria Roll Arena. Cost is the donation of a toothbrush and/or toothpaste that will be given to Avon Cares.
Historical society to meet
The Avon Historical Society meets Monday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. in Avon Town Hall, corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge roads. The evening's program will be a video of Ohio's Bi-Centennial, narrated by Actor Hal Holbrook.
Boosters meeting set
The Athletic Boosters Club will meet Tuesday. Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of Avon Middle School.

Avon Village and East elementary:
- Thursday: Ham and cheese bagel, noodly chicken soup, baby carrots and dip, fruity cocktail, milk
- Friday: Warm soft pretzel, cheese sauce for dipping, seasoned greenbeans, pineapple tidbits, milk
- Monday: Chicken patty on bun, seasoned potato wedges, cinnamon pears, milk
- Tuesday: Rotini pasta, string cheese, tossed salad, chilled applesauce, muffin, milk
- Wednesday: French bread pizza, buttered broccoli, fruity trail mix, milk
- Thursday: French toast sticks, ham steak, hashbrown, orange juice, milk
Avon Middle School
- Thursday: Ham and cheese bagel or Chef salad with croutons, noodly chicken soup, fruit cocktail, milk

Autumn Rebels luncheon
Autumn Rebels will meet Tuesday, Feb. 13, at noon in The Barn, 37711 Detroit Road, for a $5.75 catered lunch. Harpist Cecilia McKay will provide entertainment. Reservations can be made by calling Sis Wernert at 934-4445, at least three days prior to the event.
