Flower bed sale
The Avon Garden Club will hold a flower bed sale June 23 and 24 at Countryside Antiques, 35290 Detroit Road, beginning at 9 a.m. There will be a large variety of choice plants from members' garden beds -- hostas, irises, daylillies, herbs, ground covers, perennials and small shrubs. Summer Bible school

Join the Library Friends
June is membership month to renew or join the Friends of Avon Library. All new and renewal memberships during June will have a random chance of winning a Border's Bookstore gift certificate. Dues are accepted at the front desk of the library or can be mailed.
Steak, chicken dinner
Faith Lutheran Church, at the corner of Garden and Lakeland drives, is having a steak and chicken dinner, Sunday, July 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Steak dinner is $10, chicken dinner is $8, and hot dog dinner is $2.50 per person. Desserts will also be served. For additional information, call the church office at 934-4710.
Car safety seat checkup
A child car safety seat check-up will be held at the EMH Center for Health & Fitness Thursday, June 28, from 10 a.m. and noon. Schedule an appointment by calling 988-6800. Clinics are sponsored by the center and the Lorain County Safe Community Coalition.
Basketball camp offered
Avon Boys Basketball Camp for boy in grades three to nine year will be July 2, 3, 5 and 6 at Avon High School from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Cost is $30, which includes a basketball and T-shirt. Registration begins at 8 a.m., July 2. Call Coach Jim Baker at 937-9554.
Tie-dye a T-shirt
Be creative and tie-dye a T-shirt during a special craft program at the Avon Branch Library. The program, for children in sixth through 12th grade, will be Friday, June 29, at 1:30 p.m. Bring a clean, white T-shirt to tie-dye. Call 934-4743 to pre-register.
