Bell choir practice

The Bell Choir of the Avon United Methodist Church will meet tonight at 7 in the church. New members are welcome.

City Council meeting

Avon City Council will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 at City Hall, located at the corner of Chester and Center roads.

Mother-daughter book talk

The Mother-Daughter Book Discussion, including fourth- through sixth-graders and their mothers, will be held at the Avon Branch Library Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The book to be discussed is ''The Face On The Milk Carton.''

Afternoon book group

The Afternoon Book Group will meet Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. in the Avon Branch Library. The discussion book is ''The Wasteland.'' Copies of the book are available.

Kindergarten information

A kindergarten information meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Avon Village School cafeteria. Parents of children who will be age 5 by Sept. 30 should attend. Parents will also have an opportunity to schedule an appointment for kindergarten screening.

Academic boosters to meet

The Academic Boosters Club will meet Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Avon High School.

High school musical

The musical ''Bye, Bye Birdie'' will be presented at Avon High School from March 1 to 4, 7 p.m. There will be a matinee on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Avon Village and Avon East Elementary:

-- Today: Grilled cheese, creamy tomato soup, dried Michigan cherries, milk

-- Friday: Golden mini corn dogs, French fries, diced peaches, milk

-- Monday: Meat taco boat, Mexi-corn, chilled applesauce, milk

-- Tuesday: Macaroni and cheese, greeny beanies, fruity cocktail, milk

-- Wednesday: Cheesy cheese pizza, tossed salad, pineapple tidbits, milk

Avon Middle:

-- Today: Foot-long hot dog or ham and cheese sub, broccoli au gratin, trail mix, milk

-- Friday: French toast sticks, sausage patty, hash brown, fruit juice, milk

-- Monday: Beef and cheese Gordita or chicken taco salad, Spanish rice, cinnamon pears, milk

-- Tuesday: Cheeseburger or chicken salad sandwich, oven fries, apple crisp, milk

-- Wednesday: Cheesy pizza or filet of fish on a bun, tossed salad, pineapple tidbits, milk

Avon High:

Baseball skills clinic

Avon Recreation Department along with Avon Little League will be conducting a baseball skills clinic. If you are playing in the rookie, minor or major baseball divisions this summer, you're welcome to participate. The clinic will be held Saturday mornings at Avon High School from March 10 to 31. Rookies and minors will attend from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and majors will attend from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child. Registration is limited.
