Used book sale
The Friends of the Avon Library Used Book Sale will be Friday, Nov. 9, and Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Avon Library. Members are welcome Nov. 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for a preview. The library is located at Harvest and Colorado avenues.
Association to hold meeting
The French Creek Development Association will sponsor a follow-up meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Avon Public Library to pursue plans to improve the core area of the community.
The first meeting to discuss the district was well attended by community leaders, business people and general public to hear the MAINSTREET approach and its affect on the area.
Lions Club meeting
The Avon Lions Club, which meets the second and fourth Thursday each month, will meet tonight at 7 at Tom's Country Place, 3442 Stoney Ridge Road. For information, contact Floyd Poruban, president, at 934-6221.

Luncheon card party
Avon St. Mary Altar and Rosary Society is sponsoring a fall luncheon card party Wednesday, Oct. 31, at noon at Tom's Country Place, 3442 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon. Cost is $7 at the door. Luncheon reservations can be made by calling 934-4078, 934-5933, 934-5722 or 934-6639.
Grade level talk
Learn information about your child's grade level at the next Avon Village PTA's meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Avon Village School cafeteria, 36600 Detroit Road, Avon. Teachers from each grade will share information about their grade levels.
Candidate's Night
Candidate's Night has been scheduled for Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Avon High School auditorium.
