Band and choir concert

The Avon Middle School Honor Choir and Band are performing on Thursday, April 5, at 7 p.m., at Avon High School.

Safety Town registration

The last day for Avon Safety Town registration for this summer is Wednesday, April 4. Safety Town is open to all children in Avon who will be attending kindergarten in the fall of 2001. Registration forms are available in the school offices of Holy Trinity and St. Mary's and at City Hall. Forms should be mailed to Avon Parks and Recreation, 36080 Chester Road, Avon 44011, or can be dropped off at City Hall. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 934-5044.

What's cooking for students in Avon schools from March 29, to April 5:

Avon Village and East elementary schools:

- Thursday: Hot dog on bun, seasoned corn, grapes, milk

- Friday: Fish sandwich, curley fries, applesauce, milk

- Monday: Soft chicken taco with lettuce and tomato, Mexi corn, diced pears, milk

- Tuesday: Meatball submarine, seasoned twisty fries, fruit Jell-O, milk

- Wednesday: Cheesy pizza, tossed salad, chunky applesauce, milk

- Thursday: Belgian waffle sticks with strawberry sauce, sausage patty, hashbrown patty, orange juice, milk

Avon Middle and Avon High:

- Thursday: French toast sticks, sausage patties, hashbrowns, milk

- Friday: Cheese dippers with sauce or tuna submarine, criss cross fries, cinnamon pears, milk

- Monday: Grilled chicken on a bun or beef and bean burrito, chips and salsa, pineapple tidbits, milk

- Tuesday: Meatball submarine or ''Subway'' style sub, chips, corn, cinnamon applesauce, milk

- Wednesday: Sloppy Joe or sloppy nachos, curley fries, fruit cup, milk

- Thursday: Belgian waffle sticks with strawberry sauce, sausage patty, hashbrown patty, orange juice, milk

Fellowship group to meet

Men's Fellowship Group of the Avon United Methodist Church will meet at Cracker Barrel Restaurant at I-90 and Detroit Road on Saturday, March 31 at 7:30 a.m. Guests are welcome.

Historical Society to clean up

The Avon Historical Society will meet Monday, April 2, at 7 p.m., in Avon Town Hall, corner of Stoney Ridge and Detroit roads. The membership is urged to lend their assistance for spring cleaning.

Booster club meeting

The Athletic Boosters Club will meet Tuesday, April 3, 7:30 p.m., in Avon High School.

Fine free month

For the month of April, all books, magazines and other library loan out items that are overdue can be returned without paying a fine to the Avon Branch Library.

Autumn Rebels luncheon

Autumn Rebels will meet on Tuesday, April 10, at noon in The Barn, 37711 Detroit Road, for a catered lunch. The cost is $5.75. Reservations can be made by calling Sis Wernert, 934-4445. Charlene Firestone will present a musical program following lunch.
