Avon Council: The Avon Council will vote on a new I-90 interchange (to be located east of Nagel Rd. on Chester Rd.) on Tuesday, November 12, 2002, 7:30 pm, at City Hall, Chester and SR-83.

History discussion: A discussion period covering Cultural History of Western Civilization in the Modern Era (2500 A.D. to the present) is being presented by Bill Ellis of Avon 1:30 p.m. Mondays in the Fairview Park Senior Center, 20769 Lorain Road, Fairview Park.

Ellis is moderator and administrator for the sessions. Ellis is a retired officer from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a retired Episcopal priest and has had editorial experience with several professional journals. The text being used is recent best-seller ''From Dawn to Decadence'' by Professor Jacques Barzun.

Christmas Boutique: Holy Trinity Ladies' Guild is sponsoring the 21st Annual Christmas Boutique 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity School, 2610 Nagel Road. Admission for adults is $1, children admitted for free.

Turkey raffle: Avon Firefighters Association will hold its annual turkey raffle 8 p.m. Nov. 22 at Tom's Country Place, 3442 Stoney Ridge Road. The public is invited.

Senior citizens meeting: Avon Senior Citizens Inc. will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the EMH Center, 1997 Healthway Drive, off Detroit Road in Avon. The guest speaker is Patricia Littleton, executive director of the Office on Aging in Lorain County. Guests are welcome at all meetings and events.

Flu immunization: The 2002 Flu Immunization Clinic will be at the Avon United Methodist Church, 37711 Detroit Road, Avon, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Heritage class: The Methodist Heritage Class continues Sundays, Nov. 17 and 24, in the Avon United Methodist Church.

Entertainment books: Avon Women's Club still has Entertainment books on sale for $25 until Dec. 2. For information, call Dorrie at 934-5132 or Joan at 937-5039. Today's meeting of the Avon Women's Club will feature Nancy Jirousek talking about Alzheimer's disease. The club promotes friendship through community service and social activities. Book talk: The Mother-Daughter Book Discussion Group will meet 7:30 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Avon Branch Library. The group will discuss the first book in the Lemony Snicket series, titled ''Bad Beginning.'' The Mother-Daughter Group is open to mothers and their daughters who are in the fourth through eighth grades. Copies of the book are available at the library. New members are welcome.

Floral show: The Isabella Guild is sponsoring Holly-Days, an autumn and holiday floral arranging show, presented by Bill Hixon, 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1783 Moore Road. Tickets are $8 in advance and $9 at the door. There will be raffles, door prizes and refreshments. The public is invited.
