Public hearings: Public hearings on a range of subjects from rezoning land parcels to special permits will be at Avon City Hall Wednesday (5-15-02) from 7 to 7:50 p.m. prior to the regular planning commission meeting. For information, call City Hall at 937-7800.

Bricks for bucks: Help build the new Avon Safety Town by purchasing an engraved personalized brick. The bricks will be permanently placed in Avon Safety Town and the cost is $50. The engraved bricks can make gifts for birthday, holiday, anniversaries, graduation, retirement and memorials. Garden club to meet: The regular meeting of the Avon Garden Club will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the Avon Library. The program will be presented by Dan Gouge, of Willoway Nursery, Avon.

School news: The Academic Awards dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. today (Monday, 5-13-02) at Avon High School.

Market Day pick up will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Avon Village School.

The Avon Middle School Student of the month luncheon will be held at Avon Middle School tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Avon High School Prom will be held in Avon High School auditorium on Saturday beginning at 8 p.m.

City council meeting: Avon City Council will meet today at 7:30 p.m. in City Council chamber at Chester and Center roads.
