Library hours: The Avon Branch Library will be closed all day Dec. 24 and 25 for the Christmas holiday. The library will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 31 and will be closed all day Jan. 1 for the New Year's holiday.
Men's basketball league: The Avon Recreation Department will be sponsoring a men's over 30, four-on-four basketball league, Sunday afternoons at Avon Middle School. The league will start Jan. 12 and run through March 23. Cost is $225 per team and includes shirts for eight players.
Team rosters must include a minimum of four Avon residents to be eligible. If interested, call Donna Russian, Avon Recreation coordinator, at 937-4248. Space is limited and registration must be completed by Dec. 31.
Winter break: Winter break begins on Dec. 23. School resumes Jan. 6.

Tomorrow: Macaroni and cheese, green beans, applesauce, milk
Wednesday: Bacon and cheddar dunkers with sauce, tossed salad, pineapple tidbits, milk

Friday: Mini corn dogs, seasoned corn, cherry shape up, cookie, milk

Tomorrow: Macaroni and cheese, green beans, biscuit and honey, cherry applesauce, milk
Wednesday: Double cheeseburger, fries, pineapple tidbits, milk
Thursday: Chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes and gravy, wheat roll, fruit cocktail, milk
Friday: Corn dogs, seasoned corn, fruit shape up, milk
