Public hearings: Public hearings will be held before the regular meeting of the Avon Planning Commission on Wednesday at City Hall, 36080 Chester Road. Talks regarding the proposed little league and skateboard parks begin at 7 p.m., the concept of cluster zoning ordinance at 7:10 p.m., the R-3 multi-family code changes at 7:20 p.m. and the C-4 overlay zoning for SR 83 at 7:30.
Knights clam bake: A clam bake and steak roast will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Moore Road, Avon, 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6. The cost is $18 per person and takeout orders will be available.
Book talk: Mothers and daughters (in the fourth through eighth grades) are able to participate in a monthly mother-daughter book discussion. The next meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Copies of the book, ''Ruby Holler,'' are available at the library. Also, the Tuesday Afternoon Discussion Group will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in the library. ''The Fifth Child'' will be discussed. Copies are available.
