Avon Historical Society: There will be a meeting of the Avon Historical Society at 7 pm in the Old Town Hall of 1871 at the corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge on Monday, July 1, 2002.

Leah Trainer, past State President of Questers and Chair of the International Convention of Questers to be held in Cleveland in 2003, will present a program on "The Vanishing American Barn."

Pancake breakfast: The Avon United Methodist Youth will hold a Pancake Brakfast on June 30 to raise money for their July Mission trip. Breakfast will start at 9 a.m. in the church at 37711 Detroit Road.

Outreach program: ''Pass it on,'' Christian Outreach Program will circulate donated items directly to families in need through area churches. Clothing, linens, toys, household equipment, furniture and cars are needed. All items donated are tax-deductible. Pick-up is available in Avon and Avon Lake by calling 937-9898.

Bible school: The theme for Faith Bible School is Godzwerkus which is a circus theme. Scheduled at Faith Lutheran Church, Avon, is a week's visit from a clown, a tightrope walker and a juggler. Activities begin today and end Friday. Times are 9 to 11:30 a.m. Special guest will be Mr. Hatbox on Friday, after the morning session, children will be served lunch of hot dogs, chips, cookies and beverages followed wih the appearance of Mr. Hatbox.
