Avon Historical Society: Monday, 7-25-02, 7 pm -- We're putting up the tree and decorating the Old Town Hall of 1871, corner of Stoney Ridge and Detroit, to prepare for Santa's visit on Saturday, 12-7-02. Please join us.

Seniors meeting: Avon Seniors will meet Dec. 11 at Tom's Country Place at 9:30 a.m. Following the meeting, a luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. at a cost of $10 per person, payable at the door. Entertainment will be provided by the Bellaire Dance Band. Call Mary Lou Greenwald at 934 0231 for more data.

Craft show: The annual Christmas In The Barn Craft Show will be Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Avon United Methodist Church. Holiday gifts, clothing, candles, ceramics will be available. A hot lunch will be served throughout the day. Admission is free.

Games wanted: With colder weather being experienced, the Avon East Elementary School PTA is looking for gently used games for second and third graders to play inside. For information, call Gina Tilton at 937-4117 or Terry Kraus at 934-9596.

1992 reunion: Avon High School class of 1992 reunion will be Saturday at Tom's County Place, Avon. For information, call Theresa or Nick at 937-5099.

Basketball program: Register for the Avon Recreation Department's Little Eagles basketball program with open registration being taken by Donna Russian at 934-3059. If the child is in the second grade or turns 8 by Sunday, they are eligible to play. Registration forms are available by contacting the Avon City Recreation Department. The season begins Dec. 7 and finishes Feb. 15.

Candlelight walk: The French Creek Association's 23rd Christmas Candlelight Walk will be Dec. 6 from 6 to 10 p.m., Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Festivities will be in the French Creek District, located along SR 254, SR 611, Stoney Ridge, and east of SR 83. There will be caroling, Lolley the Trolley shuttle service, craft shows, door prizes, elves, Santa and Father Christmas to entertain. For information, call 934-6119 or 937-5204.

Breakfast with Santa: The Avon Preschool Parents Club will have a pancake breakfast with Santa at Avon High School, 37545 Detroit Road, Dec. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $4.50 for adults and $2 for children ages three to eight. Children 2 and under are free. Pictures with Santa will also be taken.
