Lions Club: The Avon Lions Club will meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Tom's Country Place for dinner, with the meeting to follow.
Research Club: Avon Research Club will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in Avon Branch Library. Norma Higgins, guest speaker, will speak on doll houses, following the group's year theme of ''Homes.''
Rebels meeting: Autumn Rebels will meet Tuesday, Feb. 12, at noon in The Barn, 37711 Detroit Road. The meeting will begin with a catered $6.25 luncheon. All adults 50 and older are welcome. Reservations should be made with Sis Wernert at 934-4445, at least three days before the meeting. Harriet Michaels and Nadya Cole will provide keyboard entertainment.
CPR class: The Avon Recreation Department, St. John Westshore Outreach Department and Avenbury Lakes will be sponsoring an adult Heart Saver CPR class on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Avenbury Lakes Lodge, 35400 Avenbury Ave., reached by traveling north on Shakespeare Lane. Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required. Interested individuals may call Bill Landers, Avenbury Lakes Recreation Director, at 937-9387. Free blood pressure readings will also be available from 5 to 7 p.m.
Senior citizens meeting: Avon Senior Citizens Advisory Commission will meet Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 9:30 a.m. in the EMH Health Center. After a short meeting, Nancy Jirousek, of Alzheimer's Association, will discuss the disease. For information, call Ellen Young at 937-7821
