The Avon Historical Society will meet tonight, Monday, 10-7-02, at 7 pm, in the Old Town Hall of 1871, corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge.

The program is JOHN D. ROCKEFELLER, a first-person portrayal by Robert Deville, with reference to Lakeview Cemetary, Cleveland, Ohio

Donation: The Avon Schools Educational Endowment Fund received $21,920 from the EMH Regional Medical Center last month. The donation came from the proceeds of the EMH Eagle Run held in May. The Eagle Run was a 5-mile run, 3-mile walk and kids' run held at the EMH Center for Fitness in Avon.

It's family night: Family Night will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Avon Branch Library. Bring the family to this fun event featuring a fall story and craft activity. Registration is required by calling 934-4743.

Club fund-raiser: The Avon Preschool Parents Club will hold its fourth annual Kids Kloset at Avon High School on Oct. 19. Kids Kloset is a resale event for children's clothes, maternity clothes, nursery supplies, children's toys, books, furniture, etc. The sale is open to the public. Early-bird admission is $5, between the hours of 8 and 9 a.m. General admission after 9 a.m. is $1. The sale ends at 1 p.m. The APPC is a family organization providing educational and social activities for parents and children ages birth through kindergarten. Proceeds will benefit the club

Rummage sale: The PTU from St. Mary School will host its annual fall rummage sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 and 8 a.m. to noon. Oct. 19. To donate items such as clothing, housewares or small appliances, dropoff is 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17 in the school hall. Large appliances or furniture cannot be accepted.

Women's club meeting: The next meeting of the Avon Women's Club will be 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Community Center. Joyce Kubik of the Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs will be the speaker. New members are welcome. For information, call Marge at 937-6616.

Author luncheon: Dick Feagler will be the speaker at the Friends of Libraries' Author Luncheon noon Oct. 17 at Deluca's Place in the Park, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain. The tickets are $15 and are available at the Avon Branch Library.
