Library friends to meet: The Avon Friends of the Library will hold its regular meeting tomorrow at 7 p.m. The library is located at 37485 Harvest Drive.
Scrapbook program: On Wednesday, a how-to scrapbooking program with Leslie Stephens begins at 7 p.m. at the Avon Library. Bring six to eight photographs to the program.
Lions Club meeting: The Avon Lions Club meets on the second and fourth Thursdays at Tom's Country Place. Call Floyd Poruban at 934-6221 for information.
Women's club meeting: The Avon Junior Women's Club will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at the Avon Community Center. For information, call Sheila Wilson at 934-5412.
Senior get together: The Avon Seniors will meet Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the EMH Center for health and fitness. The center is located at 1997 Healthway Drive, Avon.
Book discussion: Join the Afternoon Book Discussion Group when it meets Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library. The book to be discussed will be ''Spilling Clarence.'' Copies are available to borrow at the library. New members are welcome. For information, call 934-4743.
Softball clinic openings: The Avon Recreation Department, in cooperation with Avon High School girl's softball team, will sponsor an indoor softball clinic at the high school gym for girls registered in the ponytail, minor or major league division of the Avon Softball League. Two sessions offered will be March 9 and 16, and March 23 and 30. Ponytail division, ages 7 and 8, will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and the minor and major division, ages 9 to 12, will be from 2:45 and 4:15 p.m.
The clinic will cover hitting, pitching and defense fundamentals. Cost is $20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child. Space is limited and registration deadline is Feb. 28. Call Donna Russian, Avon Recreation coordinator, at 934-3059 or 937-4248, to register.
Kindergarten information: Avon Local Schools will have a kindergarten information night Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Avon Village School on Detroit Road. Parents of children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 1 should attend. Parents will have an opportunity to schedule an appointment for kindergarten screening. For information, call 934-5124.
Plan your garden: The next meeting of the Avon Garden Club will be Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Public Library, 37485 Harvest Drive. Guest speaker is Kevin Radke of Radke's Greenhouse in Avon who will talk about new varieties of annuals and perennials. Marge Kearney will serve as hostess and guests are welcome.
