Baseball/softball clinics: The Avon Recreation Department is sponsoring baseball and softball skills clinics for any child playing baseball in the rookie, minor or major league divisions or softball in the ponytail, minor or major leagues of Avon Little League. There will be two baseball sessions offered either on Saturday or March 22 and 29.
Eight and 9 year olds will practice from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 10, 11 and 12 year olds will practice from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. There will be two softball sessions offered, either on Sunday or March 23 or 30. Seven and 8 year olds will practice from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 9 through 12 year olds will practice from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. The clinic will cover hitting, pitching and defense fundamentals. The cost of both clinics will be $20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child. For information or to register, call Recreation Coordinator Donna Russian at 934-3059.
