Planning Commission: Planning Commission will vote on sending a recommendation to Council regarding its previous recommendation to unconditionally add an I-90 interchange near Nagel Rd. to Avon's Master Thoroughfare Plan. The meeting starts at 7:30 pm at City Hall at Chester and SR-83.

Moms and daughters: Mothers and their daughters in the fourth through eighth grades are invited to attend the Mother/Daughter Book Group Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m., at the Avon Branch Library. The group will discuss, ''Bud Not Buddy.'' Copies of the book are available at the library.

Green thumb enthusiasts: The Avon Garden Club will have its first meeting of the year Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Public Library, 37485 Harvest Drive. Guest speaker will be Shelly Hill, master gardener at the OSU Extension Office. Hill's topic will be All-American Selection Award Winners for 2003. Hostess will be Carolyn Young. Guests are welcome. Preschool open house: The Avon Preschool Parents Club (APPC) will hold its Preschool Information Night Open House Jan. 24 at Avon High School, 37545 Detroit Road, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be representatives from many Avon preschools and the surrounding communities to provide information about their programs. The APPC is a family organization providing educational and social activities for parents and children ages birth through kindergarten.
