Yard and book sale: The Friends of the Avon Library are holding their annual yard and book sale on Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Avon Branch library, 37485 Harvest Drive, Avon. Donations are being accepted at the library. No clothes, furniture or large appliances.

City-wide yard sale: The French Creek Association is hosting a city wide ''Aunt Teak and Uncle Junque'' yard sale, Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be flea markets, yard sales, sidewalk sales throughout the city, plus a rib and chicken barbecue at the Old Fire Station at 36784 Detroit Road, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Avon Garden Club will also have a plant sale. Maps available at participating shops along Route 254, Route 611, Stoney Ridge, and east of Route 83 (south of 1-90) in Avon. For more information, call 934-6119 or 937-5204 or visit www.frenchcreekdistrict.com.

Summer camp: The Pizzaz Baton and Pompom Group will conduct a summer camp program, July 8 to 22, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Baton, pompom and combination classes will be offered in both morning and evening classes, sponsored by the Avon Recreation Department. For more information, call Doreen Fischer at 937-1848.

Reading program: Children will enjoy ''Fourth of July in Ohio,'' a special Summer Reading Program at the Avon Branch Library. The program will be offered Monday, June 30, at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, July 1, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 7 p.m. The program features stories, activities and a craft with a red, white and blue theme. Pre-registration is required. Stop in the library or call 934-4743 to pre-register.
