Avon Historical Society: will meet at 7 pm on Monday, 1-6-03, at the Old Town Hall of 1871, corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge. New video versions of the Talking Quilt and other slide presentations will be shown.

Avon Planning Commission: will discuss the proposed I-90 interchange to be located east of Nagel Rd. (and five lanes of pavement on Detroit Rd.) at 7 pm on Wednesday, 1-8-03, in the Caucus Room, City Hall, at Chester and SR-83. Members of Council and the public are urged to attend.

MLK celebration: Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in music and dance with a talented troupe of young people, The Messengers Of God Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library. Everyone is welcome to attend this free program.

Preschool Story Hour: Story times for the young set begins this month at the Avon Branch Library. Mondays, Jan. 20, 27; Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24; March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; April 7 or Tuesdays, Jan. 21, 28; Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25; March 4, 11, 18, 25; April 1, 8 at 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. or Thursdays, Jan. 23, 30; Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27; March 6, 13 at 1 p.m. Pre-register by calling 934-4743.

Family Night: The Avon Branch Library is holding family nights at 7 p.m. on Thursdays. The programs will be Thursday, winter fun story, craft and refreshments; Feb. 13, Valentine's Day story, candy-making craft, refreshments; March 13, springtime story, craft and refreshments. The program is for families with children 3 years old and up. Pre-register by calling 934-4743.
