Riverwalk: The Avon Historical Society will meet Sunday, 10-17-04, at 2 p.m. at the Avon Animal Hospital parking lot to tour the Avon Isle Park and enjoy the fall colors. Bob Gates will lead a discussion of a possible "riverwalk" for Avon.
Young scientists wanted: The Avon Recreation Department is offering Little Scientists classes for children ages 3 to 6. Hands-on activities and interactive experiments will be part of the classes, held at the Avon Community Center from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Classes run for six weeks, starting Nov. 1 and ending Dec. 6. The cost is $63 for residents and $68 for non-residents. Class size is limited. Call 937-4461 to register or for more information.
Health screening: The Avon Recreation Department and St. John West Shore Hospital are sponsoring a free colorectal screening and informational table tomorrow from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Avenbury Lakes Lodge, 35400 Middleton Ave., Avon. The screening is open to all Avon and surrounding area residents. No reservation is needed.
