Holiday closing: The Avon Library will close Dec. 24 to 26, and will reopen Dec. 27. The library will be open Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed all day Jan. 1, and will reopen Jan. 2.
Old-fashioned Christmas: The Isabella Guild, Knights of Columbus, Father Ragan Council 3269, will be holding an old-fashioned country Christmas dinner and dance Dec. 18 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the K of C Hall, 1783 Moore Road. There will be music and dancing by John Kowalski and entertainment by the Isabella Players. Cost is $18 per person and $35 per couple.
Paid reservations must be in by Dec. 14 to Helen Lowe, 2922 Shakespeare Lane, Avon, OH 44011. Donations of a new or gently used unwrapped toy will be accepted for an area shelter. For more information, call Phyllis at 937-6606 or Helen at 937-6822.
It's a bargain!: The Avon Women's Club is selling the 2005 Entertainment Books for $25. They make great Christmas gifts. Call Joan at 937-5039 for more information or to order a book.
Blood drives: The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive Dec. 14 and 15 from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Avon Donor Center, 2100 Center St. For more information, call 1-800-448-3543.
