Book talks: Check out the book discussions that are scheduled this month at the Avon Branch Library.
Mothers and their daughters in the fourth through eighth grades can join the Mother/Daughter Book Group Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The group will discuss ''Julie of the Wolves.'' Copies of the book are available at the library. For more information, call the library at 934-4743.
Adults are welcome to join the Afternoon Book Discussion Group Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at the library. ''Cold Mountain'' will be discussed. Copies of the book are available at the library. Call 934-4743.
Chicken dinner: Holy Trinity's annual chicken dinner is Sept. 26 from noon to 5 p.m. in the school gym. Dinner includes chicken, potatoes, vegetables, salad, dessert and a beverage. Tickets are available at the door. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Open house: Avon Junior Women's Club will be having its annual open house on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Community Center, 2155 Eaton Drive. The speaker will be Diane Wykle from Thin & Healthy, and her topic will be health and wellness.
