Meeting of the Avon Historical Society: Old Town Hall of 1871, corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge, 7 pm, MON. MAR. 1 REMARKABLE OHIOANS. Presented by Betty Lou Higgins, Eden Valley Enterprises

Antique show: The ''Heart of Avon'' antique show will be March 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Irish Heritage Club, 726 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake. The show features more than 60 dealers displaying antiques, collectibles and furniture, and is sponsored by the French Creek Association in Avon. For more information, call Julie Wolf at 934-0343.

Book sale: The Friends of the Avon Library are holding a used book sale March 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., March 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and March 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library, 37485 Harvest Drive. Preview night will be March 18 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Women's club meeting: The Avon Women's Club will meet March 8 at 7 p.m. at the Community Center, 2155 Eaton Drive, Avon. Speaker A. J. Pfamber will talk about organizing and simplify our lives. New members are welcome. Call Marge at 937-6616, for more information.

Avon Seniors' events:

n Monthly meeting will be at Tom's Country Place in Avon on March 10 at 10 a.m. After the meeting there will be a craft show. Those members who have been involved in arts and crafts activities are encouraged to bring their own craft items for show.

The Casino Windsor bus trip has been canceled. Avon Seniors is sponsoring a bud trip to BearCreek, a homestead community located in Indiana. There are booths, crafts, food as well as many other items. The trip is scheduled for April 15. Cost is $48 per person. Registrations by March 29. Line dancing classes meet at 11 a.m. Thursdays. Craft classes meet at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Friday of the month. Card games are offered every fourth Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. For more information, call Pat Kolecki at 937-6922. Activities are held at the Northgate Community Center.
