There will be a meeting of the Avon Historical Society at the Old Town Hall of 1871, corner of Detroit Rd. and Stoney Ridge Rd., at 7 pm, on Monday, April 5, 2004, to discuss the Lorain County Preservation Network. Marilyn Fedelchak Harley, network coordinator, will explain what the network is, where it has been, and what it hopes to to accomplish.
Marilyn will explain what the Ohio Historic Preservation Office of The Ohio Historical Society would require for Avon to be a Certified Local Government (CLG) and how this would benefit Avon. She will also describe, with examples, the Heritage Home Loan Program. Marilyn will share how this program can be a strong incentive for the owners of older homes to preserve and protect their homes' distinctive and historic qualities.
