Adult book discussion: The Afternoon Adult Book Discussion Group will discuss Atonement tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library. Copies of the book are available at the library. New members are welcome. For more information, call the library at 934-4743.

Junior Women's club officers: The Avon Junior Women's Club announces the 2004-2005 executive officers. They are: Jen Thomas, president; Kelly Lie, vice president; Kristen Mackintosh, secretary; and Lisa Peterman, treasurer. The general membership meetings are held the third Monday of each month, September through May, at the Avon Community Center at 2155 Eaton Drive. Anyone interested in membership opportunities may contact Jen Thomas at (440) 934-9697.

Beware!: The Avon Fire Department will be testing its new severe weather warning siren on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Amish tour: Avon Seniors Inc. and the city of Avon Lake are sponsoring day tours for all interested. On June 3, there will be an Amish tour. A local guide will visit several Holmes County areas and will point out many of the customs and living styles of the Amish community. The cost is $38. The departure time is 8:30 a.m. and will return approximately by 4 p.m.
