It's a first!: Avon Junior Women's Club will be having its first meeting for the 2004-05 year on Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Lions Community Center, 2155 Eaton Drive. The monthly membership meetings will continue the third Monday of every month. All are welcome.
Toddler time: Registration is being accepted for Toddler Time, a story program for 24-to-36-month-olds and their caregivers. The program will be offered on Thursdays, Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Avon Branch Library. Preregistration is required by calling the library at 934-4743.
Bake-Off/Cook-Off contest: Sixth- through 12th-graders may enter the Bake-Off/Cook-Off contest sponsored by the Avon Branch Library, 37485 Harvest Drive. It will be held Aug. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the library. Prepare a cooked or baked item for judging and win prizes. Preregistration is required by calling the library at 934-4743.
