Avon Historical Society: The Avon Historical Society will meet today [5-3-04] at 7 p.m. at the Old Town Hall of 1871, Detroit and Stoney Ridge roads. Ed Herdendorf, former OSU professor, will speak on the history of the Garfield House in Sheffield Village.
Cheerleading: Tumbles & Cheers in Avon is accepting sign-ups for its 2004-2005 competitive cheerleading teams. There are eight Ohio Extreme Cheerleading teams for different grade and skill levels. Students will learn tumbling, stunting, cheerleading and dancing. Experience is not required for some teams. Call (440) 937-5591 for more information.
Spring luncheon: Avon Seniors Inc. will have its second annual spring luncheon at Tom's Country Place May 12 at 10 a.m. After the luncheon the group will be entertained by its own members with a style show for the ladies and men from the Dress Barn and Wal-Mart. Cost is $10. Deadline for reservations is Friday. Checks should be made payable to Avon Seniors Inc. For more information, call Jane Richard at 934-6944.
