French Creek Development: The French Creek Development Association will meet Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Town Hall, corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge roads. School play: The Avon High School Drama Club's fall play, ''You Can't Take It with You,'' is set for Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. There is a matinee Sunday at 2 p.m. Advance tickets are $3 for students and senior citizens and $5 for adults. Car seats distributed: The Lorain County Safe Community Coalition is distributing car booster seats tomorrow at the Avon Fire Department, 36185 Detroit Road, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. The seats, for children who are between 40 and 80 pounds and between 40 and 57 inches tall, are free for families who meet income guidelines. Book sale: The Friends of the Avon Library are holding a used book sale Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library, 37485 Harvest Drive. Donations may be dropped off at the library. Preview night will be Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Discount coupons: The Isabella Guild of Knights of Columbus Father Ragan Council No. 3269 in Avon will offer 2005 Entertainment Books for sale. If purchased by Dec. 1, the book costs $25. If purchased after Dec. 1, the book is $30. This year, the books are bigger, featuring both the East and West sides of Cleveland. Seniors meet: The Avon Seniors Inc. will hold its next meeting at Tom's Country Place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by Jerry Simmerer, who was once associated with the musical group The Four Lads. The Baking Ladies will have a special treat for the group as it is close to Thanksgiving. At this meeting, seniors may sign up for the annual Christmas party which will be held at the Avon Oaks Country Club on Detroit Road on Dec. 8. The cost is $17 per person. Happy anniversary: The Avon Junior Women's Club will be commemorating 10 years at its Nov. 15 meeting at 7 p.m. at the Avon Community Center, 2155 Eaton Road. The history of the Avon Junior Women's Club will be presented by Stephanie Ringwalt.
