Yard and book sale

Avon Branch Library Yard and Book Sale will be Saturday during the library's regular hours. There will be a wide variety of items and books for sale.

Attend community barbecue

A community barbecue, sponsored by the French Creek Development Association, will be Saturday at the newly constructed gazebo, located at the southwest corner of Stoney Ridge and Detroit roads. Tom's County Place will be catering from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

City-wide yard sale

Avon's city-wide yard sale, known as the Aunt Teak and Uncle Junque sale, will be Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A list of all participants will be available at all French Creek District shops along SR 254 and SR 611, Stoney Ridge and French Creek roads. Visitors are urged to observe the no parking signs.

Church's annual Oktoberfest

St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception's 24th annual Oktoberfest will be Saturday, July 25, on the church grounds at 2640 Stoney Ridge Road, beginning at 3 p.m. There will be dancing music, ethnic food, prices and games for the children. Admission is free
