Sign up for football, volleyball

St. Mary School will hold sign ups for football for boys in grades five to eight, and volleyball for girls in grades four to eight Sunday, July 25, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the school hall. Call Don McClear at 934-1358 for details.

City Council meeting

Avon City Council will meet in regular session next Monday at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall, corner of Chester and Center roads.

Mom/daughter book group

The Mother/Daughter Book Group will meet next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library for fourth through sixth grade girls and their moms. The book to be discussed will be 'The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.'

Adult book discussion

The Adult Book Discussion Group will meet to discuss 'Recessional' next Tuesday at 2 p.m. Guests are welcome.

Soccer fall registration

Avon Soccer Fall registration for players 4 to 14 years of age are still being accepted. For details and registration, call 937-5202. Players age nine and up are filling fast.

Booster's golf scramble

Avon Athletic Booster Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Bob-O-Link Golf Course starting the men's scramble at 8 a.m. The $40 cost include 18 holes of golf, skins, soft drinks, beverages, food and prizes.
