Post's activities discussed

The Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7035 will meet tonight at 8 at the post home, 36950 Mills Road, to discuss their summer scheduled activities.

Council meeting scheduled

Avon Council will meet for its regular meeting on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Avon City Hall, corner of Chester and Center roads.

Donations accepted for sale

The Friends of the Avon Library are accepting donated items to sell for the library's yard sale, Saturday, July 17. The sale is in conjunction with the city's Aunt Teaque and Uncle Junque Sale. Please drop off donations to the Avon Library. No clothing or large appliances, please.

Fourth of July program

Children who are in the Avon Library's summer reading program are invited to attend an Old-fashioned Fourth of July program. Sign up to attend the program one of the following dates and times: Monday, June 28 at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m.; or Thursday, July 1 at 1 p.m. Call 934-4743, to sign up.
