City Council meeting
Avon City Council will meet Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at Avon City Hall, corner of Chester and Center roads.
Fall/winter recreation fun
Donna Russian, new recreation coordinator for the city of Avon,Êhas announced an extensive schedule of activities for 1999-2000, starting this fall, and continuing through winter and spring. The Fall/Winter program for 12 weeks starts in October continuing through April.
Activities include adult co-ed volleyball, and adult men's basketball. Registration forms can be picked up at the Recreation Dept. at Avon City Hall. Registration must be completed by Sept. 30. For additional information, call 934-5044 or 937-1093.
Library's Sunday hours
Starting on Sunday, Sept. 23, the Avon Branch Library will be open on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday hours will continue until Sunday, May 21, 2000.
Nursery class registration
Registration for nursery classes for three-year-olds are being accepted. The classes will be held Monday through Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2265 Garden Drive. For information, call 934-4710.
Library book sale
A book sale, sponsored by the Avon Friends of the Library, will be held at the Avon Branch Library, Sept. 10 to 12, during regular library hours. Donations may be dropped off at the library.

Antique fall festival
The French Creek Association is sponsoring its 21st annual Country Living and Antique Fall Festival, Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be craft markets, side-walk sales, craft demonstrations, and refreshments.
