Greet New Year's Eve at VFW
Avon VFW Post 7035 will have a New Year's Eve Party at 36950 Mills Road with food, music, noise-makers and fun. The post will open on January 1 at 9 a.m.
Council swearing-in ceremony
The swearing-in ceremony for Avon City Council members will be Sunday [1-2-00] at 2 p.m. in Avon City Hall. The public is invited.

AVON EAST, VILLAGE, MIDDLE SCHOOLS
-- Monday: Chicken pattie on bun, tator tots, fruit cup
-- Tuesday: Ham and augratin potatoes, peas and carrots, roll with butter, fruit
-- Wednesday: Cheese pizza, buttered corn, diced pears
-- Thursday: Pasta alfredo, soft bread stick, tossed salad, orange wedges, peanut butter pie
AVON HIGH
-- Monday: Chicken pattie on bun, tator tots, fruit
-- Tuesday: Diced ham with augratin potatoes, roll with butter, blueberry cobbler
-- Wednesday: Steak um sandwich, buttered corn, diced pears

French Creek group to meet
The French Creek Development Association will meet Tuesday, Jan. 4 in the Lions Community Center on Eaton Drive at 7:30 p.m. Individual membership fee is $15, and businesses are also invited to participate.
