Students hold pancake breakfast

A pancake breakfast sponsored by Senior Class 2000 will be held Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Avon High School. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, and beverages, and the event is open to the public.

Holy Trinity rummage sale

The fall rummage sale sponsored by Holy Trinity Ladies Guild will be held Monday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will be held at the church hall, 2610 Nagel Road.

Store plans before commission

Avon Planning Commission will meet Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. to review the CVS Company plans for a new drug store at the southwest corner of Old Center and Detroit roads. The planners had approved plans in the past, however, when they were presented to Avon Council for approval, there were changes made, consequently council requested a second review by the planners.

Adult book discussion group

Adult Evening Book Discussions at the Avon Branch Library will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. Preregistration is requested by calling 934-4743.

Day off for students

There will be no school on Wednesday, Oct. 6, due to NEOEA Day for school staff.

Children's craft program added

Due to popular demand, a second program of the StepUp Club has been added at the Avon Branch Library, a craft and story program for kindergartners through third-graders, starting Wednesday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 9, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Preregistration is required by calling 934-4743.

Seniors welcome new members

Autumn Rebels, a group open to adults age 50 years and older, will meet Tuesday, Oct. 12, at noon with a catered luncheon for $5.75 at The Barn, located at the Avon United Methodist Church. Reservations can be made by calling Sis Wernert at 934-4445. The program will be 'The Avon Story,' a video by Bill Furnas.
