Book discussion: The Evening Adult Book Discussion Group will meet Wednesday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at the Avon Public Library to discuss ''House of Sand and Fog.'' Copies of the book are available at the library. For more information, call the library at 934-4743.
Kindergarten screening: St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception School will be holding kindergarten screening for the 2005-06 school year, Friday, May 13. To register for this screening, call the school at 934-6246. In addition, open registration is available for all grades, kindergarten through eighth.
French Creek Nature Center programs: Free family movies will be shown tomorrow at 11 a.m.; Thursday at 1 p.m.; and Saturday at 2 p.m. A sports-themed adventure movie will be shown.
Call and pre-pay $20 by Wednesday for a children's class where a Mother's Day silk bouquet will be made on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.
Tomorrow is the last day to call to join basketweaving instructor Laura Berthold in making a tissue-holding basket. The class is Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. Pay $19 at the door.
