Historical meeting: The Avon Historical Society will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Old Town Hall of 1871, corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge roads. Al Doane will present a program on the Lorain Tornado of 1924. For more information, contact Dr. Del Fischer at 934-6106.

Women's meeting: The Avon Women's Club will hold its April meeting April 11 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Community Center, 2155 Eaton Drive. Susanne Cox-Hudson will present ''Design Basics.''
