FCDA Bicentennial Eagle Contest and Other Events

The Bicentennial Eagle Contest judging took place during the Avon Spring Fling, April 5 and 6, 2003.

As Ohio celebrates it's bicentennial, many communities are organizing special events. The Eagle, Avon School's mascot, has become the focal point of this community's celebration.

The French Creek Development Association (FCDA) arranged for over 40 cast stone Eagles to be provided to the art classes of all the schools in Avon grades three and up.

The students decorated the Eagles for a judging held April 5 and 6 as part of the `Spring Fling' sponsored by the French Creek Association, the French Development Association, and the Avon Historical Society.

The winning Eagles were exhibited at the French Creek Nature Center during the Bicentennial Exhibition of Lorain County's communities.
